The Atlanta Volunteers Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) is a non-profit that assists low-income Atlantans that demand safe and stable housing, insist on fair pay for an honest day’s work, and break free from domestic violence. They believe anyone fighting for their rights should not have to do it alone!
This program takes place on the first Saturday of every month for individuals who require assistance from volunteer attorneys through Pro Bono means. The program allows volunteer attorneys to interview potential clients and assess their claims, accept full representation for cases, and consult with other AVLF attorneys about issues they have already experienced.
The FPA of Ga and Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) are joining together on the FIRST Saturday of EVERY Month for the AVLF's Saturday Lawyer Program. This program is to assist low-income Atlantans who need access to volunteer attorneys. With this in mind, those individuals also need guidance regarding their personal finances, this where we, members of FPA of Ga, come in!
I went on the first Saturday of January 2020 and was very humbled by the experience.
I plan to attend every-other event throughout 2020.
